Accessory Finders on Canon 7

OK i know there was this weird little thing that clipped onto the body. but is there any way to atatch accessory viewfinders? because i want to use my CV 28mm ultron. on my new camera. anyone have any solutions?

canon gurus? 😉

The original accessory shoes are way-expensive. Two thoughts: A flash-grip that attaches via the tripod socket, one with the shoe on a handle; second though buy a flash-bulb style flash that mounts in the bayonet PC socket and make an accessory shoe out of it. The original accessory shoes are in the $150 range, if you can find one.

kevin cameras had one, and it was like 175$ and i am thinking "YEAHHHHH RIGHT!" lol. meh. im not in a hurry really, i can always compensate with the 35 frame possibly. cropping never hurt anybody 😉.

depending on if i like it or not, i may sell it and get a canon P. its just a possiblity 😉 ( i know im not getting the 50mm .95, since i alreayd have the 1.2 coming to me )

Don't 7s come with accessory shoes? Wow! Weird. Same nitwit didn't put shoes on F1s.

The 7s has the accessory shoe. With the Canon 7 it is worse than on the Canon F1 or Nikon F series. Those cameras have "shoes", just non-standard. You can attach a flash or viewfinder directly onto them. The finder for the Nikon F 2.1cm F4 lens slides right in. Accessory shoes for the Canon F1 and Nikon F are readily available, I paid $1 for one for the Nikon.The Canon 7 had an accessory shoe that goes into the bayonet for the side-mounted flash. If the meter on the Canon 7 is dead, you could pop the top and put a shoe where the meter would go. The 7s re-oriented the meter readout to make room for the shoe.

Yes, I did use that viewfinder with 21 f4 (mirror lockup) on a Nikon F... wish I'd kept that lens (and that F, of course). The finder was adequate but had no bright line.
