Accurate Manfrotto parts identification?

I have an older (35 or so years) Manfrotto monopod that's in good condition except for a broken plastic leg lock lever. The online parts resources I've found are not accurate - the listed replacement is totally different and unworkable. (I tried.) Does anyone have a favorite resource they can share?

Just try and send them (manfrotto us or italy) the exact designation of the tripod and eventually a picture from the part ya need. Maybe you're in luck and they have some old parts in stock but not listed.

Call Manfrotto. They'll know what the part is and can supply it if one is still available.

I have a Manfrotto tripod that I bought new when I was 15 years old. I have had it for 25 yrs! A few years ago, one of the leg locks began giving me problems. I hadn't sent it in for repair because i was short on money.

One day, I stopped in the local camera store and a sales rep from Manfrotto was there talking to the owner. I mentioned the problem with mine, and the salesman asked if I had it with me. I did, it was in the trunk of my car. The salesman had some parts in his car, and he fixed it for me right there, for free!

I had the same problem and found it best to work through a "bricks and mortar" camera store/dealer who got me the right lock for my mono pod.

I'll give that a try - my local store is a Manfrotto dealer, I'll see if they can help. I'd just hate to retire the monopod after only 35 years of service! ;-)
