I guess that this is something of a flame but I just have to get this frustrating program off of my chest.
I gave using it the ole college try even through a few updates but it is still a failure in my opinion.
I want to like it but among some minor issues, it crashes on me at all the wrong times especially with large tiff files, so bye-bye ACDSee.

Me too. Not a good piece of programming.
Try this program : http://www.irfanview.com/
it has a thumbnailing ability that is nice, and it is MUCH better than ACDSEE. Free, too.

I'm through some updates too, started at version 4 and just switched to version 8 pro.
Haven't had any crashes in version 8, version 7 had some problems with Canon RAW files even after all the patches.

You know, I started out several versions ago (maybe v5...), and liked it. Then it got more and more bloated, and it started crashing on me, so I dropped it. Recently, someone showed me the current version, which worked great for him and had some great features.
So I guess it's just a crapshoot with software sometimes. I don't know.

Another Irfanview fan. It's free (as far as I know it's for Windows only). Try it out and explore the options. It's amazing!
