Has anyone tried the metal accessory grips / tripod plates on eBay? At this point it seems eBay is the only source, and all the vendors are in China.

Is there any other sort of accessory grip for the X100s / X100? Not looking for a thumbs-up type of thing.
I have the plastic half-case sold on Amazon made by JB but it easily pulls away from the camera body, it does not feel secure. Thanks

why not just use the leather case, i find it gives enough grip to hold the x100s for hours

because I don't like leather, because leather gets moldy in hot and humid climate, because you have to take it off to get at the battery and card, because it's expensive considering I'd never use the top half... the lens hood is aways on, I never use the lens cap....
would be interested in hearing from someone who has used the metal grips being sold on eBay.

does anyone make a simpler grip for the x100?
i think it would fit my hand better with a grip...

I sure would like to know the answer to that question. Google is only finding the thing I linked to on eBay.

fair enough, some people don't like the feel of leather and yes it can be annoying at times having to remove it to access the battery and card but it can be inexpensive.
i bought mine for $20 on ebay, never used the top part and always had hood on. what I like about it too is that it also offers protection to the body as well.

Thanks, will look for the $20 ones on eBay...
Would still like to hear about other options as I carry this camera every day.

It's not bad -- very good grippy surface. Got it on amazon. But the plastic is a little too soft so it pulls away too easily from the camera body. Thus it does not feel secure in the right hand. I am used to the metal Rapidgrip on the Leica which give a VERY secure grip.

do you use a wrist strap or shoulder strap?
i'm thinking it might be better with a wrist strap...

I use a neck strap. Might be better with wrist strap.

Now this one looks truly eccentric - from Great Britain. Sold without the attachment screw. You'd think they'd include that for convenience's sake:

Hi, Pablito,
To answer your first question...YES! I have purchased and used one of these 66 dollar eBay grips, for my X-Pro1. (I already own the equivalent/ original Really Right Stuff grip for my X100.)
I found the eBay knock-off to be quite good quality. Not as good as the Really Right grip...but plenty good enough at half the price...and, like the RRS grip, the screws allow the removal of the 90 degree tripod piece, since I never expect to use the X-Pro1 on a tripod at 90 degrees.
I purchased the eBay grip for the X-Pro1 because I was so annoyed that Fuji's X-Pro1 grip (which I also own) did not include a rectangular cutout for the battery/ memory card compartment. So dumb.
(FYI..I also have a plastic JB grip for my X100. Great for the price, but I do prefer the more pronounced grip form of the metal grip.)
The only negative I have found with the eBay grip...is the feeling of guilt I have in using it, knowing that it is so obviously a direct rip-off from the Really Right Stuff people....but my current economic position dictates some thrift.
Robt.
