This summer I spent a little over three weeks pedaling across Kyrgyzstan with a few friends. We flew into the capital, Bishkek, and hired a driver to transport us and our gear to the eastern part of the country, near Karakol. From there, we began our 1,000 km ride back to Bishkek via a route we'd mapped out, loosely following the beautiful Tian Shan Mountains. The people and places we passed by were unforgettable.
I'll post a handful of photos here to give you a sense of the trip, but you can see my entire set of photos here: Across Kyrgyzstan.
All of the photos in the set were shot on Ilford HP5+ using my Leica MP and 35mm Summicron ASPH. I'd welcome any feedback, thanks!

Beautiful scenery of course. Wouldn't have thought to cycle through it though.

I looked through the photos on your website. What a real feat to cycle through the country! My favorites are those photos of you guys mingling with the locals. Did you take any color landscapes?

What an amazing trip, documented with some fine photos! That looks like some rugged terrain that you pedaled through. I was amused to see a donkey with a VW crest on its forehead and I especially liked the interaction with the local folk. And I, too, like that you're shooting film.
Your photos look like they were all taken with no filters. Is that your preferred approach?
Thanks for sharing your experience and your photographs with us.

Amazing experience and great work. Having been to the Tian Shan mountains myself in the 1990s, your photographs are sort of a déjà vu. It is an overwhelming landscape and the hospitality of the people one of a kind (as it is in the Altai mountains or the Pamir region). Happy memories.

I saw the post on the Peak Design website before but didn't realize it's the same trip you are on. Great pictures; sounds like a great adventure!
