I am investigating, buying a Hasselblad 205TCC.

I do love converted and adapted classic lenses on my Leica M cameras.

Is there such a thing as an avid market for medium format conversions, to fit unmodified Hasselblad V bodies (namely the 200 series with focal plane shutter, to even use lenses without working central shutter)?

Reason for interest is not cost savings, but the desire for specialty vintage glass, to be used in 6x6 with that marvelous viewfinder.

My biggest interest lies in fast normal to short tele photo lenses (50 − 75mm in 35mm format terms).
Also very interesting would be wide angle lenses with a specific look (sharp in center, sharp enough in corners, smooth but distinct light falloff, low contrast, but still fast enough for comfortable handholding, so no slower than f5.6).

Well, you would have to probably buy a lens that mounts on a 200 series body, and then scrap it for the lens mount. You would have to put another lens on there that could cover 6x6 (you aren't going to find any 35mm lenses that will have large enough image circles, and even if you found a tilt-shift lens that did, the flange distance would be much shorter than the giant hasselblad mirror would allow). The only lens I could see actually adapting would be maybe a pentacon six or pentax 6x7 lens, or a large format lens and in that case you won't be finding any wider than 58mm or maybe 47mm. These lenses will likely also have too short of a flange distance so the only large format lenses you could probably adapt would be over 90mm or 105mm. And then, why would you when to do it would require you to break apart a T* lens. This makes no sense.

Not sure if this helps, but from one of my favorite photographers...

Take a look at his Flickr pages, HERE

Unfortunately, they are not in "sets" nor "tagged" so you will have to page through a bit. He uses a Great Wall and an ancient Darlot Petzval on the 200 series. He refers to them as the "Great Hassel" and the "Darlotblad" respectively, and produces (IMHO) some brilliant work!

Thanks Dale and Jeff, that's exactly the first lead, I needed ;-)
The "Darlotblad" is quite amazing!

He indeed does some very interesting photography, will have to spend some time on his flickr stream.

Ah, actually an old brass lens could probably be adapted. They should all easily cover 6x6 and have long flange distances, but focal lengths are going to be more like 150mm and 300mm.

Buy an extension tube, thats the easiest thing to use as a mount. Some Bellows wouldn't be a bad idea either.
Just to be pedantic to the chap who said 35mm lenses won't work, You'd be surprised. A Leica 135 Elmar Covers a huge area when you take the lens head off. It should cover 4x5.
