I have the rare 35mm f1.5 LTM. I have a cheap Chinese adapter (which I'm assuming is the problem). The lens focuses fine on my 7s but adapted on my m240, I have to focus a bit to the left of the RF patch to get it in focus. My 28 elmarit and 50 planar focus fine on the M.

So should I shell out $75 for a camera quest adapter?

If you have access to a micrometer you could check the thickness of the adapter. It should be 1 millimeter or .0394 inches. Precision at this point is very important. Probably the adapter.

The Canon 35mm f1.5 is a lovely lens. I once bought a Canon VIT just to get this lens and it's one of my favorites. Joe

Sounds like it's back focusing not focusing close enough, can you not ask the company to send you another one?
I use a Chinese made adapter on my 50mm 1.2, the quality of these adapter is just fine and the great thing about them is they are available coded.

I appreciate all the answers. I ordered a new adapter from camera quest. hopefully that'll solve my problem, if not, the lens off to get CLA'd

its such a sharp lens, even starting at f2
