I was looking at some pictures of a Voigtlander Prominent in a book, and it seemed to me that the lenses looked a lot like Contax lenses, what with the focusing helical on the camera body (or at least it appeared that way in the photo).
Are there adapters that would let you mount these lenses on a Contax? This seems like a potentially interesting way to get some use out of some unusual, inexpensive, and not-often-seen optics.

Voigtlander made adapters to classic Contax and Nikon RF mount for the 50mm lenses only.
Now discontinued and almost sold out, but still in stock.

Wow, the weird thing is, Stephen, I just found that page on your site moments ago and intended to post it here! Who would've thought?!? However, I was most interested in the other focal lengths...I'm sure that Nokton is terrific, but why bother when you can get a Sonnar 1.5 so cheaply?
The Nokton is a Planar variation. The Nokton is very sharp, and seems closer to the Leica standard for focal length. I use mine with an adapter on a Nikon S-Mount camera.

Now I'm back cruising the 'bay... Nice Prominent body for $145 BIN, looking great except for a wrinkle in one of the (outer) shutter leaves... Skoparon for $130 BIN...
Got to be strong. The new me is a Contax guy. Serenity now.
Can't help but think that Prominent prices are coming down somewhat. I was trawling for one just three months ago and eventually decided the prices were inflated compared to a Contax, which is also the more usable camera.
Anyway, yes, I wouldn't mind access to some Voigtländer glass but then again, the adapter's a little bulky. (Has to be because the flange distance on the Prominent is longer, for the leaf shutter.)
