A number of the lens I use are not on the lens list. I haven't found any
reference concerning how to add a lens to my list.Any direction would be appreciated.
Regards,Peter

Peter, the main gallery lens list is moderated... Please post here what lenses you use that are not on the list, or PM me or another Mod, and the lens(es) will be added in a name-consistent way. Make sure to include the mount system for interchangeable lenses, and the specific camera if it's a fixed lens.

Once a lens is on the main list, you need to use the "My Menu" in the Gallery, choose "Lenses" and assemble your own personal list from the main list. Then, while you upload pics, you can use that personal list to identify the lens used for the group of pics or for individual pics.

A lot of the pics in the Gallery have not identified the camera and lens used... When included, this can be a valuable resource for searching later. I went back through my Gallery photos and made sure that info was added.

Tom, added Fuji X lenses
Fujinon 18mm f/2.0 XF R
Fujinon 35mm f/1.4 XF R
Fujinon 60mm f/2.4 XF Macro

Including full and accurate nomenclature in lens list requests would be helpful. 🙂

Thanks, Tom, appreciated... I think most of us are still learning about the new gallery. It seems useful to have more info there rather than less, for later searches. For instance, I saw in the forums that another member had just gotten an unusual camera that I also have. So I ran a gallery search for that camera and found only we two admit to uploading pics from that model.

Thanks Doug,

I checked the lens list before I saw your post and couldn't understand the '105mm' until I read further 🙂. Do you roll 120 film onto 620 spools to use your camera? I was very pleased when I realized that my old camera took 120 film.

cheers,
clay

Thanks for correcting the following entries:

OLYHMPUS - (TRIP 35)
MINOLAT 90mm f4 M-ROKKOR
OLympus G. Zuiko 42mm f/1.7

and please ad:

Olympus D. Zuiko 40mm f/2.8
Leitz Elmar-C 90mm f/4

Thanks a lot!!

Hi MiniMoke, could you specify the lens mount (if interchangeable) or the camera (if a fixed lens)... For example I'd guess the Elmar-C is M-mount... and is the 40mm Zuiko for the Pen D2 or for the OM SLR system?

Hi Doug,

Me again, I seem to have developed a liking for old folders 🙂. Could you please add Color-Skopar 50mm f/3.5 to the list. It is the lens of my beautiful Voigtlander Vito II.

thanks,
clay

Thankfully there is this thread now!
My suggestions to the lens DB.

Correction to type: Leica M
Please group all Leitz M mount lenses under one "Leica M" type, not as many as now. Or do I miss another reason having so many "Leica M" groups?

Correction to type: Leica LTM
Same as above

Please add lens to type: Leica M
Elmar 90mm f/4 (rigid)
Front label:
- Ernst Leitz GmbH Wetzlar
- Elmar f=9cm 1:4 Nr.1291243

Thank you very much.

I have also images with SLR camera bodies. Do you add SLR lenses too, if I provide exact lens information?
Thanks for clarification.

Hi- The rigid Elmar added

I don't know why the lens types are broken up in the lists from which a member chooses them, a software matter I think.

I have also images with SLR camera bodies. Do you add SLR lenses too, if I provide exact lens information?
Thanks for clarification.
Sure... You might look to see if your SLR lenses are already listed. There are a lot of Pentax and Nikon SLR lenses on the list, plus a few others.
