This one is for Jorge, I guess...

I started using Skype recently - for those who are not familiar with it, it's a (free) software that lets you use Internet to "phone" other Skype users who are online. There's also a chat function, group chat, etc.

There's also a (prepaid) option of using Skype to phone "real" telephones.

Anyway, I thought it would be a nice addition to our profiles if we could also list our Skype nicks, and chat with each other when we feel like it, or even talk.. .There's a possibility of "conference" chat, which might be interesting. Also, chat is faster than private messaging...

In short, I think it might be useful.

Check it out yourself - there are versions for Windows, Linux and Mac - I'm using Linux, and it works great!

i also started using skype after my trip to new york.
my buddy there has it and i'm too cheap to pay long distance rates.

isn't the conference feature limited to 4 users at a time?

I started using it about a year ago with my NZ based friend.

Works perfectly, and trust me, you can't find two places on Earth more distant than Spain and New Zealand...

Would be fun for sure, but for us non-native English speakers... well, you get the idea :D

Nick,

Skype is VOIP telephony software. You use it to talk to someone thru computers.

Jason.

PS Isn't Skype being bought by Google.
