A little goodbye post to my camera featuring photos I've not posted elsewhere.

I loved the ep-1 for its looks but have to say, it was frustrating at times for what I wanted it for :bang:

I'm not sure if it's put me off the compact systems, even if it was amongst the first. It certainly never felt like I really gelled with it if you see what I mean. It was still too big to be a carry everywhere camera so not sure if the pay off between that and a smallish dslr was really worth it.

That said, it certainly took some lovely photos under the right conditions.

Anyone still working with the ep-1?

Mine was converted for IR. Great second life for it with the 20 1.7 and 14 2.5 lenses. It gets lowlight exposures of people indoors that the original sensor could never have pulled off, exposures which do not advertise their IRness because there's no green foliage to turn white or blue sky to turn black.

IR => infrared. By removing the hot mirror from the sensor, the camera can be used to photograph light outside the visible spectrum.

I only have the E-PM1, but despite its paucity of physical controls it's pushed my Pentax K5 to the sidelines. They really are fine little cameras.

I gave up on my E-P1 about six months after buying a second hand Panasonic G2. I had great hopes for the 17mm with its bright line finder but it just didn't work that well for me. The G2 is much better suited to my needs.
