As part of one of my too plentiful $5 ebay deals I got a Vivitar 2000 flash. However, googling that I see only a model with a swivel/bounce head, and this one is fixed. It's absolutely adorable, like a miniature real Vivitar, with a PC cord built in. Best I can figure deciphering the matrix on the back, it appears to be GN 60. Anybody familiar with these?

The Vivitar 2000 is a fixed-head unit, you may find it in a number of different case styles, similar in specs, just sourced from different companies over the years. Has one or two auto range modes, selectable with a switch on the front, and has a reference chart on the back showing film speed vs aperture for both manual mode and the two auto modes, which yield 2 different maximum distances for operation based on setting, which is color-coded, blue and red as I remember. Pretty straight forward, find the film speed, read over to the blue or red stripe and set you aperture accordingly.

If you can find a Vivitar 2800, it adds a tilt head, 2 auto ranges and auto-shutoff (a great feature), as well as a green OK confirmation indicator.
