Adox 25 ASA on 6x7

Couple 6x7 negative and 25 ASA and I guarantee you that you can't see the grain.

Plus I really like the "old" look that this film produces, it really was apparent when I first saw the output from the scanner.

Of course, the proof is when I print on paper. I've been waiting to print 6x7 again. Maybe this weekend I'll do a 11x14 print from these.

This film is not cheap at 5 bucks a roll, but I'm now addicted to it. Heh!

I have been loving this film in 135 with Rodinal stand (it almost looks MF in some conditions).

Would love to shoot it in 120. Currently, I don't have a MF scanner, don't want to pay to have cut film scanned, and thus I just let the lab do both dev and scan. Unfortunately, any contrasty film I send to them comes back way too contrasty (negs and scans). So, I stick to Delta 400 in MF. Sigh.

Yes, another Rodinal user here.
The roll was developed 1+50 for 12 min.
What I like is the gentle tone range without making the photo greyish.

Grain is such a miniature format concept 😛

I shoot Efke KB25 (I assume this is the Adox 25 which is the Efke rebrand) in 35mm, and there's no grain there either most of the time.

It's a stunning film, in terms of tonality, as shadowfox has shown us above. Beautiful images and great printing/scanning, too. Looks nice with a warm tone base, I see! I'm waiting for some rolls in 120 to arrive, I think the tonality will look even better than 35mm. The smoothness of the tones will only be amplified.

That's what I thought also *before* I look at this roll.

What I like the most is that it's grain free but thanks to its tonality, it looks as far from digital as east from west.

I don't think it's that cheap, just under equiv. of 4$, but comparing to prices of other emulsions here it is really rather cheap (Kodak and Ilford emulsions selling for 6-7$ per roll of 120..

A 35mm roll of basically any Kodak B&W film is around $10 here 🙁 Ilford is a bit cheaper at around $4 for Pan 100. And in 120 you can't really find any variety.

I did a comparison last summer and got the same look out of Efke 25 in Xtol 1+1 (virtually grain-free even in 35 mm) and out of Pan F, exposed at 32 ASA and developed in Spur SD2525.

So I stuck with my Pan F stock for the time being. It IS more expensive, however, so I might switch back yet... (Efke is $4.80 and Pan F is $7.10 at my supplier right now).

A contact print from that will be indistinguishable from a platinum print.
Actually a 10 sheet pack is not expensive at all... hmmm.

Yes Efke 25 is an amazing film in Beutler or Rodinal. Unfortunately the Efke films are containing a lot of Silver so they are more affected by the high international Silver prices on the market.
