Adox CHS 100

Have shot and developed a roll of this film recently in DD-X. I originally bought some of Adox's ultra-slow film [the 20 ASA jobbie] and was intrigued at the description of CHS 100 being unchanged since the '50s, made by hand with care on ancient equipment etc.

Whether or not DD-X is ideal or not, I've been pleased with the results. Am at work at the mo so can't post any shots, but the pictures are sharp, fine-grained and have good contrast.

It's about 80p cheaper per roll than Delta 100 etc in the UK and you can process it in 7-8 minutes rather than 13 in DD-X.

Has anyone else used this film, do you like it, what do you develop it in ??.

I recently tested a roll, developed in ATM49 (which is calbe49) but found it a bit to contrasty (even in this low contrast developer). next time i rate it 64 or so and cut on dev. times. The clear base is nice! I also found it quite grainy - which is normal for these old formulas i guess...
But it's to early for me to have an opinion - need to try it a bit more. But in general i'd say thumbs up (if i get these pics scanned i'll post some...)

Bought some rolls to use in my vintage cameras. I tried the 50 ASA stuff in an old Kodak No.2 box brownie....even after my thorough calculations, they turned out grossly underexposed, guess I was off by a couple of F-stops. 🙁

I'm currently running some ADOX CHS 100 through my Leica and Kiev. I'll let you know what I think of the film when I have finished these rolls. 😉

I bought it because of the unchanged recipe in the first place, hoping to give my photos that old look when I shoot WW2-living history events.
