Tonality and sharpness are nice here. Not in all shots though, although they all are nice in composition!

Interested in this new film, anybody else that can post any shots?

The film looks smooth!

What do you think? Are you going to change film stock or stick with what you have been using?

I cant wait to the folks in the States can order it. Freestyle should be getting some this fall/winter....

They look great, but I wonder if there is really anything this film offers that makes having to use a special developer worth the bother. Is it really sharp or less grainy compared to more common films like the ISO 100 offerings of Kodak and Ilford?

Chris, I had that question myself. I would like to see the film souped in Rodinal, XTol and a pyro soup such as Tanol or Finol.

Hi Helen - I emailed the VP of purchasing at Freestyle (Eric), he kindly said he would hope to sell it 30-45 days after they can test it to ensure it meets their QC for sale...

That was 2 weeks ago....

Eric went to Photokina and hopefully has a box or two to eval....

I am looking forward to trying it too. I want to run it in Xtol and the Silvermax dev to have some fun....

'zsas' ...Yay, Great !!
Thanks much for the Info ...:D
I will try and place an Order & stock up on more Arista premium as well

Nice street shots. What comes to the characteristics of this new film+developer combo my first impression is washed out skies and clearly harder contrast compared to APX100. I wonder if it's due to the developer used.

I wondered why they came out with a special developer when there are so many good developers available already. My original thought was it was one of those really high contrast films (like tech pan) that needed special chemistry to bring the contrast down to normal levels, but Adox says its based on AGFA APX-100, which is a normal 100-speed film.

I never tried APX 100 in anything but Rodinal and D-76 (and much preferred Rodinal). I wonder if whatever tweaks ADOX did to give "higher silver content" made it perform poorly in most normal developers, hence the special sauce?? Or is the new developer just a marketing gimmick to bring in more $$?

I like this film and wonder how its good is in dark place situations. These samples are only sharpened. Overall not corrected. I dont have printed yet so can't say about quality of wet prints.
I think this film is contrasty and have nice grain, gray tonality.

Thanks for sharing these, nicely done (my favorite is also the jewelery photo, BTW). One question, no correction of contrast / tones after or during the scanning process applied ?

Hi maddoc, yes it was no correction of contrast and tones only sharpened some photos and corrected exposure +/- 1 stop because I shoot wiht leica m4-p without exposure meter and not always got perfect exposure...
