Hi Everyone,
Just signed up here after surfing it for awhile.
Totally new to Leica after being a Nikon (D700, F80, FM3a) shooter.
Going to pull the trigger on a M9 and was after some advice on a simple kit.
Can only get 2 to start with. 50mm cron or lux (overall cost to decide) is a definite.
Really unsure on the whether to go 28mm (which?) or 35 cron next.
How do people decide on which has the best utility?
Opinions and thoughts most welcome. Thanks

35/50 seems to be the most common. 28 can be a little too wide. 35 handles most situations. 75/90 for portraits. You need to look into specifics on 75/90 sharp v. soft.

Onw of the main advantages of a rangefinder is the framelines system that allow you to see around the actusl area of the picture. It helps for anticipation and composition. The 28mm framelines are on the very edge of the viewfinder, meaning you lose that advantage. For that reason only, I think a 35mm lens is a better choice.
