Hi,
Does anyone know of a Leica repair person/shop in the USA? who can repair lenses well and quickly.
I have a 4th gen Summicron 35 that has a slight looseness in the front element section and beeds to be tightened.
I have used Krauter ang Goldberg with mixed results and long turnaround times?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
I live in Kansas City. We are not up to date in Leica repair here!
Thank you,
Joe Kelly

Try Youxin Ye in Boston. He's fast and reasonable. He CLA'd 3 lenses for me as well as a couple of non-metered M bodies.
Google him or search here for his contact info.

Have you made a thorough search in Kansas City? There might be somebody who can help close to home. The reason I say this is because I stumbled across a man in Houston who has done great work for me on Canon RF bodies and lenses. The last camera I took to him was a Pentax 6x7 and he did a great job on it and was very reasonable. I admit that I haven't asked him to repair any Leica equipment. If I need Leica work in the future I will consult with him first. A long way around to say maybe there is someone in K.C.

In my experience, Sherry Krauter has been a lot faster than she had been in the past - I've been getting lenses back about 10-14 days after I send them to her. (Have sent a half-dozen lenses to her in 2007.)

A 4th version Summicron 35mm may be too "modern" for Youxin.
