Hello folks,
I just bought a Contax G2 with 45/2 and 90/2.8 lenses.
I must say I love it, but one issue cropped up after a couple of hours of shooting. The focus lock button, which I use to focus, worked well for a few shots and then stopped working. Now the button does nothing. Has anyone had or heard about this issue? Could it be a problem with the contact between the body and lens (although the half-shutter-button-press still focuses the lenses), or is it something else? Am I missing a simple solution (perhaps a setting that I have inadvertently modified)?

Rajmohan, make sure that you are still in CAF (continuous auto focus) mode. The focus lock only operates when you have CAF selected.

Your comment on CAF/focus lock is interesting. My G2 focus lock works in CAF & SAF. Maybe quirks from one body to another?

No it's probable that I'm wrong. Again. Ask my wife she will verify.

Hi Wheaty and Gerry,
It worked in both SAF and CAF, just like a back button focus on a DSLR. Sadly, it no longer does. But I'll not let it get me down - the camera and lenses are still wonderful, and I'm going to enjoy using them!
