Advice on repairing Canon A35 F

Just aquired this Camera. Everything Seems to work...however the protective glass(plastic?) in front of the vue/rangefinder is missing. So here goes: 1)any one know where I could get a sm. part like that? 2) Is this a project someone could do at home? Thanks RED R.

Go to a hobby shop and get a pack of microscope slides. Get a glass cutter at the hardware store. Go home and start cutting until you get one cut right.

Hello, I got the cutter, finally found some slides (school supply), removed the screws and the film advance. The top cap seems loose but no luck with its removal:bang: . Any tips, suggestions? I'm at an impasse. Thanks for your time. RED R.
