Hello yashica fans, I have the opportunity to buy a 'mint' 35gx for about a 100 dollars. I would appreciate your opinions on this camera, as well as on the price. I have some leicas, an olympus 35sp, OM1 ... Thanks in advance !

You should also check http://www.cameraquest.com/yash35gx.htm and http://www.yashica-guy.com/document/gxmanual.html. I do not own a Yashica Electro GX but to me it seems to be the most attractive of all Yashica Electros. 100$ is OK for a working camera and really cheap if it's mint. I think you should buy it. 😉

I'm a 35SP fan, and a former GX owner. The GX is wonderful. Best viewfinder of any compact camera I've used, and a wonderful diamond RF patch. What lets it down is a tendency towards lens flare, and I never use hoods, so it had to go.

I've owned one for a few months and put several rolls through it. I find it an absolute joy to use, it feels 'right' in the hand, the metering is great (with filters if desired) and the lens is sharp.
Not had any real flare problems with mine.
I also own a 14E and a GSN, the GX is quite a bit smaller and lighter and for that reason alone I almost always go for it though I really enjoy the all manual 14E.
I paid $100 for mine in exc + condition and I'd definitely do it again!

GX owners, do GX has shutter release feels similar to G[S/SN] in terms of rather long trip and stiffness (would be logical because of AE) ?

Yes, shutter has long travel then a delicate 'click'.
