I had a love-hate relationship with the 24-120D. Mine was fair at 24, reasonably sharp at 120 when stopped down to f11, but downright atrocious at 35. The problem at 35 was the extreme pincushion distortion when focused to infinity; something that no amount of stopping down can cure. From your images, it seems your sample is way better than the one I had.. or maybe, you're just a better photographer than I am

I've had one for years--it's a good copy. Works well on the F100.

Could be I just never hit the 35mm mark.
