On the Canon AF35M, are the only places that should have light seals the hinge side and the latch side?

This post jogged my memory of having a camera that I recalled having a similar model number. Anyway, had a look and found it under a cupboard where it's been gathering 'a lot' of dust. It is in fact a AF35M. I recall getting this off the bay for £0.99 and when I got it thought "what a load of plastic crap".
I had a look inside and yep, you are right. There are only two light seals. One at the hinge, the other at the latch. I've just replaced them in mine. Took all of 5 minutes. Put two AA batteries in it and it fired up first time. Noisy little bugger. Not for nature reserves!!! Only just noticed it's got a Hoya filter on it. Bonus! The lens looks like a nice piece of glass to be fair. I may shoot a roll through it. Anyone have any knowledge Good/bad? How many elements is the lens?

Ummm. Nice shots. Looks like I'm going to have to put a roll through it. Maybe it is plastic, but not a load of plastic crap!

I picked one up about a year ago at the local thrift from teh $5 bin. 1st probllem I found with it was when I got it I thought I loaded it with film and then simply put it away. A couple of weeks ago I came across it and have been shooting away. The stripped window moves when the shutter fires so all looked well.. After going well past 36 frames and no rewind, I opened the camera to find it empty. There is no definitive way to know there is film in it. Also, other than changing the ISO there are no adjustments. A plus is the 48mm filter thread. Went into the junkbin and pulled up a UV and Yellow filter. Do need to locare a 48mm lens hood as I try to always shoot with one.
I agree, quite noisy when advancing the film. OTOH, I've read good things about the lens so I'll not quite yet throw it against the wall. Though plastic, it does not feel as cheap as many others of the same type. I am not a zoom lover so the fixed lens is not an issue.
I figure for what I paid and that it uses cheap AA batteries it was worth the $5 and if nothing else I'll throw it in my pocket as a daily carrier.
