Today I got tired of squinting through the viewfinder and dug up my dusted canon 1Ds from 6 years ago and gave it a spin. 11MP sounds meager now but I'm still amazed at how nice the rendering still is after almost a decade since its launch. BTW, after a year of manual focus the 61 point AF is quite refreshing!~

The original 1Ds has superb image quality within its limits: it's the best Canon camera I've owned of the ones that matter anyway 🙂 (1DsII, 1DsIII, 5D, 5DII).

M6 and 1Ds right up my alley

M6 and 1Ds right up my alley

🙂Wow
This year I bought both an M6 my first Leica and just arrived 1Ds.Ihave been wanting a full frame digital to go with my EOS1-v.
Going out to use it this week🙂
From the look of your shots I won't be disappointed.

The canon 1d's are definitely the ultimate photographic tool. And although the sony sensors rank higher in techy tests (like dxo), the canon sensors are still the best for tones/colors/overall balance.

I loved my old 1Ds, it produced wonderful files back then. I've been a fan of the 1D series as well, having the mkII and a few mkIIIs. These days I just use a couple 5DmkIIs which meet my needs fine with good lenses.

How can you live with that? My DSLR has 61 AF points 🙄.
One has to do with what one has, I guess. But it is very difficult, missing all those 16 AF points. :bang:

Look at this picture, I seemed to have missed the focus on all those sheep in the background:

Just kidding
This one is with the 200/2.8L btw.
