The weather has been nice and sunny so I took the new outfit loaded with a roll of Kodak 400B&W (C41) to a nearby park for a quick "test drive" a couple of days ago. This is my second R2 so there was no learning curve to overcome with the body and it only took a couple of exposures to get used to using the 75mm frame lines. Having large hands, I found the 75 to be easier to handle than the 35 Color Skopar Classic. In my SLR days I used a 105mm lens quite a lot & I found using the 75 a little strange. I think it's just a matter of getting used to the different focal length.
I don't like the B&W C41 film though. When I used it in the past, I shot it at box speed & the pictures looked like mud. I've had similar results with the B&W Portra and Ilford XP2. This time I rated it at 250 E.I. and got very contrasty results. With the exception of size reduction the examples are as scanned.
