Hi!
Today I got a pack of ten Apx 400 films for 3,20$ each. They should be processed before 6 2010. For me a good deal.
And here's my question, whats your fav. developer for Apx 400? I use Rodinal, rate the film at 320 10 mins. development and it workds fine. Any advice?
PS I got myself two bottles of Fomadon R 09 (I read somewhere that it's based on a old Rodinal formula) is it the same developing time? (I'm somehow no try and error guy
).
thanks

Santino: R09 times and dilutions are different than the Agfa Rodinal formulation. Check the Massive Development Chart for a comparison.
I've never been that impressed with APX 400 ... until I saw what Gene has done with it. Check his Flickr site with the APX400 tag. He's using HC-110 @ 1:100. Gene only believes in 1:100 for HC-110.

I got nice results shooting at box speed and using Rodinal 1+100 for around 22 minutes. Grain wasn't an issue, but then this was 6x6.

I only have and use HC-110. I've gotten good results with HP5+ and APX 400 using both dilution B & H.

Atomal. That's what I used a few years ago. Nowadays it is sold as Calbe A49. The image was taken with a Rolleiflex-T, APX400, some flashbulb, developod in Atomal as per instructions.
