The new vista 200 has more grain(the smudged variety) than fuji 800 press and nearly as much as natura 1600. Given its more expensive than kodak/fuji 200 here in China i dont see it lasting long.
That sure sounds like Ferrania! Solaris is crap! Strangely, some people here in the US seek it out for that horrible look. I tried some when it was sold in local grocery stores in the USA (as Kroger store brand, not as Agfa) and it was very bad indeed. Not 'bad' in a good way, either. Just bad.

Beautiful, Lorenzo, but I note that there are no people in these shots, and hardly any greenery. In my experience, Ferrania does nasty things to greens and Caucasian skin tones.
I like it for seascapes:
Shot on Ferrania 200 on a foggy (!) summer day in Maine.
I'll be using some Vista, if and when it appears over here, for subjects like this.

I once shopped at Kroger, and it was crap, the food tastes bad, bad, bad, indeed. I don't know why people in the US still shop there, because it is 100% strangely crap.

Nice photos, Lorenzo. I think Ferrania looks great in bright sun or in Mediterranean lighting conditions-

It was more than once that I tried Ferrania film - I'm not a kid, it's been around for awhile and so have I. I have found it to be universally dross. If you like it, buy it. I remain of the opinion that it is horrible.

I agree the Kroger is not a shopping experience for the gourmand ...
Bill, could it be the processing? I find Ferrania (at least the stuff I tried, private labeled for ShurFine, but same as for Kroger, AFAIK) needs tweaking in PS/GIMP, whatever. Fine grain? No. Smooth/gentle? No. Interesting/entertaining ... yeah, for the right subject.
