Agfa Karat 36 Heligon

Just finished cla on my beautiful Karat 36 Heligon and wanted to find some filters to protest the lens mostly. I know the Retina lens is the same size and my Retina closeup attachments fit perfectly, but is the precise filter size 29mm or 29.5mm and did agfa make some nice chrome mounted filters for this lens? David

David, it's 29.5mm, or if you find some Kodak ones, they are marked 32mm (outside diameter). The Kodak ones don't have female threads, so you would need a 32mm push-on hood. I don't know if Agfa ever made their own filters (just don't see any for sale), but Ansco did, though in mainly Series sizes. I happened to come across some nice Cenei filters, that have both threads, so I can use a screw-on hood. It's such an odd size (not many manufactures used it) that folks tend to hang on to them.

I finally got the film tearing problem on my Solinar equipped model fixed, and it's working great now. The Heligon equipped one though is still awaiting it's overhaul
