Agfa Record III

I am tempted to buy Agfa Record III that comes with Solinar f/4.5 lens for Euro 25, which needs complete CLA.

What do you guys think? Should I pull the trigger...

My photo enlarger is capable upto 6x6 and I do not own a scanner, which left me wonder what I will do with the camera.

I have a nice and clean Agfa Record 3 with Solinar 105mm/4.5 waiting for CLA. It needs new bellows and the shutter and the rangefinder mechanism just need basic cleaning and adjusting. I'd expect CLA + bellows would cost about €120-150. Bellows are available in UK (Sandeha Lynch). I'm still hesitating with the CLA decision because I don't think I'd use the camera very much.

That is also my problem too. I have an Isolette III with Solinar 75mm f/3.5 lens, cosmetically in great condition but it needs shutter CLA and range finder adjustment.

I am thinking too much to get it done even for Euro 30(one of the quotation).

If any body in Germany would like to have that offer, can find it in kleinanzeigen.ebay.de and search for Agfa Record.

As an alternative view, the Solinar lens is a great Tessar variation, capable of very fine quality. The camera itself is light, compact and built quite sturdy. If it has a Compur shutter, they are very reliable once cleaned and lubed (the real thing, not just a squirt or two of naptha.) Even the Prontor SVS shutters will last for a very long time after an overhaul. The bellows is certainly a weak point on these cameras, but if you buy a new one they are not that difficult to replace yourself.

Even if you have it professionally done the cost is still only a small percentage of what a new dSLR will cost you, and the pictures are so much higher quality.

But...if this is not the type of camera you are interested in using, than it is probably best to leave it be.
