Agfa Ultra 50 on ebay!!

For $20 per roll it should be miraculous.

I still have some rolls somewhere - great saturation, just don't use it for portraits!

Man, no joke. This is great film, one of the best neg films of all time. I have a brick of 35mm still in the freezer, and a few rolls of 120 left. I use it more and more sparingly for the subjects it will really shine with. I shot a roll in Central Park a few years ago when Christo had "The Gates" up- all those orange sheets in the wind looked better on Ultra 50 than they did in real life.

how about putting some images into this thread.. I've never used it nor seen shots where there was a clear attribution to this film by actual users not the promotional literature or images by pros.

I shot it some in the late 80's and it was pretty nice. Sort of the Vevia of color neg film. A bit too contrasty for my tastes and sometimes the colors were way too funky. It was never a great seller as it was slow and quite specialized in color. It's really nothing you cannot duplicate in PS these days (but start with more realistic colors and less contrast).

Based on the link from Ywenz

Pretty saturated on the darks and reds. The greens pop too. I like this as a specialized film

Agfa Ultra 50 was ultra-saturated - too saturated. The colors were so vibrant, they just about assaulted your eyes. Looked like a clown car exploded.

Now that's an expensive few shots. $120 for 5 rolls of 120? I'm a big fan of this film, but yikes. Wish I had some of it in 135 next to the stash of Ultra 100 in the freezer!

I have been burning such film in 120 format. I had no clue that it is that expensive these days. I may still have quite a few rolls left in the freezer. This reminds me of when I burned all rolls I had left in Agfapan 25 during a two day trip to New Orleans!

I shot alot of this film years ago...yes it is saturated with color...I don't remember what it cost back then but it was nowhere near $20 a roll...If I recall there were three different ASA's with the 50 being the most saturated...Don't remember the other two names for the other ASA's...Anyone???
