Ah, the joys of the postal system...

I just had film posted in NY/NJ area by 'Ducttape' on Monday. The box about 6x6x6 inches arrived on my desk this afternoon. So 4 days from the US to Toronto. USPS. I advised against UPS they agreed to use USPS and needless to say it was exceptionally fast and all for $6.35 USD!

I love the post office in the US , UK or Canada.

I've had no problems with both USPS and Australia Post, but when the M4 was returned from its CLA by a courier company, it arrived with a distinct boot-toe dent in the side of the box, and the opposite corner crushed from where it struck something after being kicked. No way was that accidental. Luckily the camera survived unscathed. At least I don't have to worry about the camera being fragile.

Hm, I have to confess - I was the original sender of that wad of dirt that Bill received.

Aaaaargghhhhhh!! :bang:

I mean, the package looked just fine when I sent it - luckily, the camera was inside the neverready case, and my guess is that the case saved it.

I'll probably print out these photos and take them to the post office soon - not that it will make any difference, I guess - I just need to vent 🙁

Anyay, I'm glad that the camera works.

Bill, is the hood/shade in the package? I sent the original Russian lens shade included in the package....

Denis,

Yes, thanks! I had to go back and dig around inside there, but there was a filter and a hood inside. Aren't hoods normally round? Just kidding!

I wouldn't be too hard on your post office - who knows where the damage occurred? Besides, as copake_ham says, it didn't really happen - all post offices are perfect.

Best Regards,
