Ah the simple life of a RF shooter

Perhaps a tatoo on my forehead 'technologically deficient'
😀 That reminds me of seeing a guy at a SF Macworld computer convention some 15 years ago, this guy had an old-type computer chip (the kind with "legs" along the sides for solder connections) glued to or embedded in his forehead, as if to say how much a computer-integrated type he was. Kinda the opposite of what you're suggesting!

the elitism displayed in this thread makes me want to barf.

What could be more simple than framing a subject in a lcd display and pressing a button?

Hand someone a rangefinder and they will be lost.

Rangefinder photography is beautiful, simple, and elegant once you know how to use it.

Easier than a simple digital snapshot, I don't think so.

There is even a new word to go with digicam photography: "Chimping". It's the habit of closely inspecting the image on the LCD after every shot. Just watch a few digital photographers sometime: click...chimp (did it work?)...click ...chimp(did I get the shot?)..click.

This is a very good article. I like and agree with the ideas of it.

On the other hand discussing it here is like the famous situation during the Cuba missile crisis: almost all the advisers of Kennedy were hardliners and when people with very close oppinion are arguing, the final idea or solution is becoming more and more radical.

For example mainly I'm a mechanical camera purist. and it seems to me not the only one here 🙂).
But don't forget, even an easy to use mechanical film camera is more sophisticated than a good digital ps camera.
