Aki-Asahi shutter ribbons

Has anyone used aki-asahi shutter ribbons for repair? I've had very positive experience with leather coverings from him, but wonder if the tape material is of correct weave and size. Can they also be used on Contax shutter, since it was mentioned they require ribbons of different thickness than Kievs?

I'm sure it's a fine one, except that a yard of it costs 1.5x more than what I paid for my Contax :)

I bought shutter tapes from a FSU seller only, they work very well on the Kievs. The difference Henry talski about could be important, but Henry is a little bit extreme in his views about Contax repair.
 
I have bought Kievs here in China where they have used Leica Style Shutter ribbon, I even have one that three strands of strong nylon strings were used in lieut of ribbons. Both method appears to work, so it appears the contax design is very adaptable. But I have very little confidence in these class three repairs and intend to replace them with the real McCoy in due course.
 
My problem is that I have a 4AM with broken ribbon, and a Contax II that has replacement ribbons which were cut a tad short, disabling the B speed. Ideally I would like something which would fit both cameras..
 
I've no idea what a yard might be, Eugene ;) I'm going to check this, but I'm sure it's a hell of a length ;)

EDIT : OK, forget what I just said! phew... too hot in here, that affects my brain
