Almond Brothers Band Album Cover by Leica

Jim Marshall shot the cover of "Live At the Fillmore East" (in an alley in Macon, Georgia). Most of his work is shot with one of several Leicas, but I think he used a 'blad for that cover.

When I took a photo class at my university a couple years back we had an assignment to present the work of an artist (not necessarily just photography). I chose to do my project on Jim Marshall. Everyone in the class jumped on my case and insisted that I only enjoyed his work for the subjects in the photos, not for the actual material itself, even though most of the photos I presented did not include famous subjects. None of these people even knew about him or his work. Lame.

I still think Jim Marshall is cool.
