So, I was lucky enough to recently acquire the rarer Summaron 3.5cm M2 version that activates the 35mm framelines for the M2. I also got a 12585H hood for it but unfortunately, the hood makes adjusting the aperture a bit tricky as it's so close to the aperture ring (see pics).

I'm not sure if a better version exists, like maybe the ITDOO narrow band:

which seems to me like it would still come too close to the aperture ring or maybe just resign to a screw in 3rd party hood? Suggestions welcome and thanks!

Hi,

Years ago I bought a nice (cheap) black alloy screw in one for my Summaron f/2.8 and still use it. It vignettes slightly when wide open but doesn't at normal apertures.

It looks like this one:-

I'm not all that worried about it vignetting as I seldom work with the lens wide open and needing a lens hood at the same time. Also the lens is slightly recessed anyway.

Regards, David

Thanks for the info David. I'd like to avoid 3rd party and vignetting but if need be I'll definitely take the plunge on an alternative.

Check out Yama hoods. Screw in. Hard to find outside of Japan but you do see them on eBay occasionally. Should make it easier to change the aperture than the 12585.
