Alternative shops for re-leathering an M3?

Not being a customer and whining is worse than complaining about poor service when it affects you.

Cameraleather offers a sophisticated range of choices. Obtaining some of them may be problematic for him. Could be minimum order from the supplier, Maybe they haven't skinned any red snakes recently. They could be an endangered species and he has to smuggle them in from the arctic
He could streamline his service by doing what Henry Ford did. Any color as long as it's black. That would make a lot of people unhappy too. Then you could complain about lack of choice. Quick delivery though.
He could simply put an "out of stock" notice on the site. Easy enough. Maybe he doesn't like dealing with computers.
It's a part time operation, You don't know if he's working seven days a week twelve hours a day or has that cushy no stress job that the rest of us have do you?

hi Johan, how much is this going to cost ? could you either post or pm me ? thanks ! :)

Hi Lem!

CCR Luton has a page online that quotes GBP 95 for recovering and also shows nice pictures on the process, it's here.

Bit extra: shipping is not included. And somewhere else on the site I found a price list that was last updated 2009, so maybe prices have gone up.

I will probably have to sell one of my M2's to pay for the complete fix-up of the M3, but right now I do not get out of the M3 what it can bring, so keeping it as a shelf king (it's definitely male, as an owner you just know:D) would be rediculous...

I'm sorry to have started a debate - Morgan seems like a really nice guy, and I'm sure he runs a better business than I ever could. I was just wondering about alternatives considering delivery times - but emailing Morgan fixed the issue. Perhaps I should have done that prior to starting a thread.

In any case, thanks for all the help. Cheers.

I can only add my recent experience with Morgan. The product, griptac, arrived in about a week. From across the pond I thought it to be first class, good product too. 100% satisfaction!

Best,

normclarke.

I've been waiting for 4 months for something that Morgan told me he had in stock. I e-mailed him about it a month ago and did not hear back. This was after having a great transaction with him last time I ordered. I understand that he has another job, but really, this is getting ridiculous.

As you can see, it's really hit or miss. it took 3-4 weeks for my leather to arrive, which I would definitely consider long, but Morgan seems to be a great guy and did a nice job with all the customization I asked him to do, I'm sure he is a busy man but I would buy from him again. As long as you go into it without the expectation that the leather will get to you in less than a week, you'll be fine.

Give him a break? I am a small business owner but no one gives me a break. Or anyone else I know, they just go under.

Again, reread my post! I am trying to help the guy. What the hell is so hard to figure out about that? His customer service sucks. There are many small business and management folks on RFF. Can anyone help him? Any volunteers?

I have a lot of free time and would be glad to notify and communicate with his customers for free for a month or so. Maybe someone closer to him could offer to help. I don't have a clue but the guy needs help.

So, stop your whining about my pointing out the obvious and let's see if we can help the man.

He never asked for your advice on how to run his business or did he? Why don't you go into business and compete against him?

Just an update, Now November and I am still waiting. (Ordered in Feb. 2011) I found a phone number and maybe I'll see if calling actually gets a response. E-mail certainly hasn't been a help.
