Am I Reading This Correctly? NO More Zhou Cases?

I was just looking through some eBay auctions and took a look at Mr. Zhou's listings and read that after he sells his current offerings.......NO MORE !!

This was added in big letters on all his auctions.

Am I missing something?

That is certainly not good news. I really like the case I bought from him, and was planning on at least one more. I was also hoping for good leather shoulder straps to match the cases.
He may have run into problems with supplies of leather, plus labor and shipping costs. He seemed to be trying to do things the right way, and I think he may have discovered that it costs more than he planned.
Luigi sounds like he has high prices, but the handfinishing and fine leather are not cheap or easy to find. He is priced to give him a reasonable profit, and he provides service which is a rare commodity today. I had hoped that the Zhou case would be a staple item, and that he could expand his offerings.
I'll be interested in any future offerings, after the good experience with the first.

I checked the ebay listing and only two left.:eek:

I bought one ... how could I not?

These cases are also a perfect fit on a Fed 2 ... my Fed will be very happy! :)
 
Well, I believe we are dealing with an individual craftsman, so perhaps a balance of his ability to produce the cases to the speed at which he sells them is a good thing.

It may have been somewhat tacky to compare one person's with another person's work and not inviting both people to that original thread. Luigi always has been a gentleman. I feel a little guilty about it since I provided a review of some sort.

Hi Raid,

My purpose for the trial wasn't trying to find which one is the best by comparing one person's with another person's work. That's meaningless. I gained so many valuable feedbacks from all you folks. I could promise you my new coming design won't disappoint you.

Regarding to this post, I have to make it clear. Yes, no more cases from me on eBay after the existing auctions end. I won't sell cases on eBay, because since I put them on the bay, they were taking too much time from me. You will still find my cases on the market but not from me. Thanks again to all of you!

Now is the good news! I just completed design prototypes for M8 and R-D1 cases today. They look nice and the M8 case is an unique design. I will post them when they ready.

You mentioned that your cases will still be available, but not from you. Do you know who the Distributor will be and what the cost might be?

I purchased a case from you a couple weeks ago and am very pleased with it.

I wish you good fortune, and am sure you will be quite successful.

Once a vendor has been sorted, I will be keen on purchasing. Maybe RFF/SG might fancy an RFF exclusive with Zhou???
 
Hi Zhou,

I am looking forward to seeing some innovative products from you, and a competetive cost. I hope that I do not need to buy it from someone else.

I envision a small camera case for the day that you could consider. It should be small and light but sturdy, with dividers to allow one camera and two or three small sized lenses plus a few rolls of film. It would be a good day's bag.
 
Keith, can you post a couple shots of your Fed-2 in the case? If possible, front & back.

I only just clicked the eBay buy button last night so I won't see the case for a week I guess. A soon as it arrives I will post pics of it in the FSU forum and my opinion of it. I know it will fit because my Luigi case for my M2 fits it like a glove and looks very sweet.

I got very excited at the mention of a case for an M8 ... my hand is definitely up for one of those. :D

Here's the Fed in the Luigi Grip case ... it's a fractionally snugger fit than an M and the strap lugs are a little out of line but still easy to get the rings on for a strap. Sooooo much class for a Fed! :p

OK. If the cases aren't available through eBay, how do buy them? I'm keen to see the R-D1 case. And a light brown (like the colour Keith just showed on his FED-2 below) one for my M2 would be cool too.

It would be great to see what your Fed looks like in a Zhou case. I'll keep an eye out to see it.

Your Luigi case looks quite smart with your Fed-2.
I guess you could purchase 5 or so Fed's for what what the Luigi case costs. :)
