Anyone interested in doing some wedding photos for a not very formal wedding in the Laguna Beach area in November (19th)?
I envision that this would be more on the order of candids and RF style than staged and flashed - maybe good for someone starting out or out for a nice afternoon without the usual wedding photography stress and usual format of events.

No, but I need an amateur car cleaner to detail our cars because recently we had to drive in really dusty conditions. This would be a great experience for someone just starting out in the car cleaning industry. There's no stress because we're not that fussy about our cars.

No I will actually be in UK before hand.
But "gizzus" your camera and I will take the epicures for you.
Seriously - this is coming up in a few weeks, so if anyone knows someone that would be wanting to take the photos - I would chuck some $ towards expenses.

It's a once in a lifetime event (theoretically, of course). Hire a pro, because if anything can go wrong, it will.

If the images matter to them they'll pay. If not they won't.
Simple choice. I'm a wedding photographer and am fortunate to be paid well. That being said I'm very aware that great photography is a luxury expense an not essential for a happy marriage.

Actually she is not very stressed about the whole thing (quite calm) and has a good attitude about the wedding not being the glamour "best day of her life" deal... She would rather have some more casual shots and is watching budget so it is understandable.
Having shot 3 weddings myself, I know it can be stressful.
The first was pure magic and the best shots I have seen - but the day was also magic with the first and only time I have ever seen the green flash (in Capistrano)
The second was with large format and it did not go so well.
The third with digital and was mediocre.
But could be a good experience for someone wanting to try it, and was hoping that there might be some motivated student at Saddleback.
Or someone like myself (a grey beard that wanted to have an interesting evening) that was close by.
here is shot of the brides sister.. Handheld and pretty long exposure:
