Amazing M8 Photos

Any chance of seeing a side by side comparison of a shot made with the M8 next to one made on fine grain ISO 100 or 200 film with the same lens on a regular M body? Only then will I consider taking the M8 seriously if the posted images are close in rendition.
How meany hours of photoshop should be spend on each digital image? :D :D :D

horrid artistically or horrid due to the M8?

These pictures are bad in both regards. However, one can not make a clear conclusion on the capabilities of the M8 because the user might be incompetent in operating the camera and/or the software.

However, one can make the conclusion in that the M8 just like the sleuth of DSLRs out there require like amounts of attention to post processing in order to achieve a film like image.

The feedback on these images is a measuring stick of the M8 proponents' expectation from the camera if they regard these images as "very nice"

That's fine because I equate photoshop time to time spent in the darkroom. Since I'm incompetent when it comes to the the traditional photographic process, I like the results from photoshop better. However, if you are entirely comfortable and competent in the darkroom, then I can see why you would hate the digital process.

These are pretty bad. The DNG's that I've seen don't look like the full size versions of these shots so clearly the user has post-processed these into digital hell. Lot's of pixelization, aliasing, etc.

I can't post the Leica forum pictures because they aren't mine. However, membership is free and it only takes a few seconds...

Ywenz shall enlighten us

Ywenz shall enlighten us

Ywenz,

Please enlighten us with your deep knowledge of these photos so that we can understand why they are horrid.

I'm new to this forum, but so far you have only revealed yourself as a grumpy person that inserts unthoughtful and unhelpful comments about how much you don't like the M8.

Is that really what you want to communicate?

You can certainly take a screen shot of your web browser showing the images..

i've signed up with the Leica forum but apparently my new account is not allowed to view images. Whatever the problem is, my attention span is not long enough to try to figure out the problem.

I think full size file`s are badly jpg compressed, I am sure M8 files don`t like nothing like that...

Apparently the person took these in JPEG mode. No wonder...

I always shoot in raw anyway but sometimes I shoot JPEG on my 5D for convenience. That's not going to happen on this camera.
