Umm, pretty sure this was made in Japan by Ricoh.
Yes, but it was designed, made for, marketed and sold by an American company.

Aha ! Interesting.
My first serious camera was the Anscomatic 726, which shot 126 cartridges and was made for GAF by Petri; looked to be a modified Racer. I always wondered how specific GAF had been about what the camera design should be, or if they simply asked Petri to 'give us a 126 rangefinder that takes flashcubes'. The lens on that thing was amazing - I think sharper than the Racer I recently bought just out of nostalgia for the 726. Once made razor sharp 16x20s shot with the 726 on Verichrome and developed in Edwal Super 20. Only months after buying it, set it on roof of car while loading other stuff and drove off! (did the same thing with a rare olive drab military version of Kodak 35) Should start a thread polling how many people have done that!
You need to use an image-hosting site, like Flickr, and link to the images hosted there. How does one insert these large images instead of attaching small thumbnails - the only option I see is to enter an URL for the image (?).

Tried the Gallery too, and get the same icon - no image.
You are using the url of the page that the image is on, not the url of the actual image. That's what I did.
As you see in my original post - no image, just that icon followed by [/IMG].

I actually rebuilt it using the shutter and top cover of the black-knob one and the body of another Perfex Fifty-Five.
