One site that I read regularly is the Digital Journalist. This site is the real thing, working photographers in real situations. I found this clip of a photographer named
David Alan Harvey, a new name to me but a real star in the world of photojournalists and street photography. Here is the introduction by Dirck Halstead, the main guy behind the Digital Journalist;

David Alan Harvey is a photojournalist's photojournalist. His work is in the tradition of Henri Cartier-Bresson and W. Eugene Smith. He never uses a press card or long lens. He never stands behind ropes at a "photo op." He tends to use a single Leica body with either a 35mm or 50mm lens. He has the eye of painter and the soul of a poet. He is the kind of photographer I would like to be.

To see what he is talking about go here and enjoy this photographer and his work. Just a technical note, it is interesting to see he does not use a lens hood on at least one of his Leica outfits......another rule made to be broken !

Thanks, Jim.

yea, please give us the link! sounds very good (I couldn´t find it at the main site)!

thanks anyways for the link to digitaljournalist, I didn´t know the site and it looks very very interesting with lots of articles in the archives!

Thanks so much! I love things like this. It shows his way of working and his attitude in interacting with others. Important things for people doing street photography. I think personal feelings about the process are one of the hardest things to over-come. David Alan-Harvey's work is brilliant. He's a master of colour and street style photography. He has a blog too. Have you seen that?

Thanks for re-posting that link...I could not find it last night, but I did spend some time on his blog. He street photos are incredible and his attitude is great. I loved reading about his interaction with the hiphop community in the Bronx and how that developed.
very inspirational stuff.

cheers
Jason
