There are definitely photobloggers among us: many, judging by RayPA's ongoing thread, and Kaiyen's resource site, so maybe the weekend of September 22nd is worth a bright red circle in your agendas.
We held the first Europephotobloggers Meetup last fall in London, and it was a great success; this fall we are all getting together in Amsterdam.
What to expect?
Well: ideally, an exhibition of some kind (preferably open to the general public)...but we trust that the Meeting&Greeting, the shared inspiration, and the shooting together will make it a couple of days to remember.
And if you're not Europe-based, but will be "in the neighbourhood" at that time, please drop by. You are more than welcome!

Cool idea. I was trying to organise a trip to a European city with the object of creating a Day in the City photo book. Maybe we could do both.

Regards

Gid

22nd September.... That could work. I'll have returned from Mongolia by then.

BTW. I signed up and want to add my name to the 50% list, but how do I do that?

My reactions to your "Day in the City" proposal kept disintegrating into the black hole of the site's hassles. 🙁 I'd still be interested in a weekend in Paris, for instance, sometime in the summer, if I can manage it.
This Meetup, though, is a definite...so if it sounds good, calendars can be marked.

Michiel: I am one of the coordinators of the weekend event and the only costs you'll be resposible for are those related to your stay in Amsterdam (plane fare, hotel, food, etc).

We welcome any who has a love of photography. Whether that be a seasoned pro or a budding beginner. At last years meet-up, a number of people brought their partners along with them.

Check out the flickr stream for impressions of the weekend.

The only costs you'll need to worry about are your journey itself and your accommodation and meals. Last year (organised by Lor and her hubby Gordon, and by Chrys ) we had the use of a small "gallery" space above a restaurant, where we held a private (clips&string) exhibition - one of the recruited sponsors took care of a couple of prints per person - and photo-swap, and our meet&greets on Friday and Saturday evening. Saturday morning we divided into groups with "expert guides" and went off shooting together. Sunday morning, those who were up to it breakfasted together overlooking the Thames. It was a brilliant weekend: lots of like-minded people of various experience and various backgrounds, lots of inspiration, lots of laughs.
And of course, if you have a photoblog - whether new or established - you'd be very welcome!
