I just ordered an M2-KS-15. As I'm not a Leica collector, rather a user, a black paint repaint is not a bother nor a full cover replacement and CLA. The reason I jumped at the chance to purchase this M2, is the fact that it has the factory installed M4 fast load system. This is one of the very small batch of M2's ordered by the US Army in 1966. It'll be delivered next week and I can't wait.

These are highly collectible and sell for very high prices. Unless you got an exceptional deal, you'd have been better off as a user to buy an M4. Would cost more than an M2 but a lot less than the KS-15 and would give you the easy loading you want.

One of two I've owned over the years. ...

think twice.

the camera's resale value will go down considerably with a repaint.

You can always have DAG add a M4 take up spool to any M2 or M3.

It arrived and it's nice. The black repaint and covering are well done. I was pleased to see the VF had been modified from the standard M2 to the M4's three pairs of two each. It also has the M4's fast loading system which I prefer. Source was Tamarkan, Chicago.
