Needless to say I didn't accept the offer or click on the unsubscribe button. My Success Manager (don't you love that?) will have to devote their skills to milking helping someone else. Funny thing is, I don't think John Weiss ever needed their help.

I think the only way they could have obtained my name and email is through my Flickr.

I have a simple approach to this kind of thing: I cannot possibly have "passed a screening process" or "won a competition"........ that I didn't enter.

When I started in banking at the end of the telex era it was my job as the graduate trainee to screen the scams out. Plus ca change!
 
So I looked up the URL www.theadrevolution.co, which is, according to itself, "taking the world by storm". I predict either The Next Big Thing or stormy weather ahead! Me, I'm a stormy weather type of photographer :D
 
I get occasional FAX messages from a law office in Canada telling me someone died, they can't find the Heir, and they don't know what to do with the inheritance money; so since I have the same last name, they will give it to me. I've gotten several of these from more than one place. I googled one of these law offices, and it did have a website.

Anyone else ever get one like that?

Oh, yes, from time to time. That's very typical of the "Nigerian Scam". There's usually a slightly stilted style of English, and use of honorifics.

Heck yeah, and I instantly told my job to shove it; bought a new girlfriend, and haven't stopped traveling the world and drinking Pina Colada's ever since. Life is good.
 
I suppose the classic old email with the distant relative from Nigeria loaded with dollars is not fashionable any more and they need to make a living, so....

Yes, these good old times seem to have gone.
