Hi guys
today I had really a nice surprise although its effective value (money wise) is almost nothing. A few days ago my wife recorded at home an interview to a man I had known one year and half ago and I had even posted here a few pictures of the very particular place where he lives alone.
Actually it's a very old and tiny village called Roscigno Vecchia, really a burg of old houses which are being slowly renewed (also and mostly) by US funds (people emigrated from there to USA and other American countries in the past) and it's famous because some past movies placed in the middle age had there their main location but for all the rest is really a lost place. From my wife's home in the surroundings of Paestum, I needed a full two hours to get there through curvy and narrow roads on the mountains.
The place has also a country museum where there's a book signed by you-can't-imagine-how-many HUNDREDS people coming from all over the world, not only US and Canada but also Scotland, Argentina, Russia, Australia.. I really wonder why and how the heck they discovered such place.
Coming back to the fact, that man is a very one of a kind living in a house which is nearly close to 100 years ago: he has just an electrical wire and a few running water but not much else. He's a good and witty person despite his old and gruff look and many people and famous photographers stopped there and snapped him a picture sending then back to him once at home.
Me too I did it and guess what? During the interview they showed his house and also, for a few seconds, also the picture I took him on Sept. 2008 that he had framed and attached to the wall. It was NOT an "evening prime time" but what the heck, my picture was showed to the whole Italy for a few seconds on the first national channel in the early afternoon...
My wife didn't realize it but I recognized it immediately and fortunately was able to show her again and the original on my private album...
