After hearing a long conversation between pro labers here in Israel, having pro connections with EU, they say, Spain is 50/50 Digi/Analog. Is that correct? I think Spain RFF memebers know better. Please, tell me about. Interesting, because if true, this points to Retro state, undoubtedly.

The only fact that I can find is:

In 2004, total sales of digital cameras was 2.200.600. This represents a 83% marketshare.

I think that, today, there are no sales of analog cameras. And it is really hard to see someone using it, appart from aficionados and collectors.

In the pro market, very few are still using film cameras (mostly artists). For example, there are no film cameras in journalism since almost ten years.

Uh?

I'm 36, graphic designer living in spain biggest town (Madrid), and I have to say that none of my friends or relatives shoot with film anymore. Even my grandmother has gone digital. During a common social event, like a wedding, there are 100 or 200 digital cameras ans maybe 4 or 5 film point'n shooters or one way cameras. For commercial jobs like weddings or journalism, digital is mandatory...

@Guildiverno.

If you would like to question what I see on the streets of the Basque Country, kindly do it here in public, rather than insulting me by PM.

I invite you to consider that -maybe- you easily find insults (hate, aggression) where there are not.

Kind regards.

IMHO 50/50 is too much... at least in Seville (southern Spain). I don't have problems to find labs or film/accesories/chemicals but it's getting harder. It's true that there are many 50 or more years old with analogue cams but muche more have gone digital.

Well I considered it, and I still find that questioning my political sentiments towards the death of a fascist dictator 30 years after his demise to be insulting and out of place on a photography forum.

You are the unique authority about you own feelings. If you want to feel offended, there is nothing that I can do about that. I would say that you didn't understand but, perhaps, you would consider that as another insult.

I think that you are right, this it not the place. This is the reason why I've send a private message to you.

Let's talk about photography. If you suggest to me a good place to take pictures in your province, I will go with my film camera as a Spanish tourist to support your curious speculations.

Greetings.

I agree with monkeypainter. I live in Barcelona and it's not 50/50 at all. I can easily find labs and chemical products, but I'd say that almost everybody is shooting digital, except (of course) the aficionados. I have found out that some old people want to have all their shots printed and they keep on shooting with film, because they don't want to mess up with a computer.
