Analoge Kameras
Zum Schluss noch eine Frage, die kurz und klar beantwortet wurde:
Frage: Baut Leica noch analoge Kameras?
Antwort: Ja, wir bauen MP und M7, weil sie nachgefragt werden. *

Q: Does Leica still build analog cameras?
A: Yes, we build MP and M7, as they are ordered.

yes - but clear !

I don't follow all the Leica talk but I think they've been pretty clear about this in the (fairly recent) past. And what are they clear about? The only thing they're saying in this interview is that they're making MPs and M7s as there's a demand for them. Is it a growing demand? A shrinking demand? Is it steady?

Proper swords are still being made today as there's a demand for them but that doesn't mean much.

I would think there is a steady demand for film Ms.
Not a big one but steady.

I don't see how there can be a steady demand.
There's a whole lot of used M's out there for those who have limited budget.
And there's the M9 for those who don't. 🙂

A more precise translation of the german expression would be:

A: Yes, we build MP and M7, because there is a demand.

🙂

My biggest concern is not they they are continuing to make M7s and MPs, but whether they are stockpiling a large supply of spare parts. If they have a 30 or 40-year supply of spare parts, then all is good even if they never make another film camera.
