And now for something totally different..

I have seen this lens cap, but forgot on which lens it was. Probably not in my under 100 CAD I'm finding to be worth to spend on manual focus SLR lens.

I bought the full set over a year ago, and never used them. Some clearance deal. So today I noticed the box on the shelf and put the 50mm 2.8 on my N2000, just because it was in reach..
I fired off a roll of film this morning, at 2.8 and 5.6-8 just to see what it is capable of. For about 1/2 the shots I had inserted one of their aperture filters that is meant to give some sort of bokeh effect.
So it will be interesting to see what it does. In usage, what it does do is cut the light entering the lens by about 50%..

From the top, the lens is reminiscent of the 50 Distagon on Blad. It'll be interesting to see what it produces.

Enjoy it as there will certainly be some arty results.

Interesting lens, I'm tempted for my FM2T or why not on the M10 ? I have the Nikon to M adapter. Or just free wheel thinking o with the adapter on the M7 ...

Temptation...is around !!! Resistance is...:)

Yes Robert. It sure looks interesting. I have the f1.4 Ais and it is my favorite 50mm. Is the extra fraction of a stop worth it ? Great for available light shots.

I think when you have the 1.4 you do not need the 1.2 as for the increased low light capacity.

What makes me curious about that 1.2 lens is the 9 instead of 6 aperture blades.

Just curious by now ...

Yes, the 50mm 1.2 AIS is very nice. I like mine, but cannot remember the last time I used it.

The Lomo set is 3 lenses, with bokeh aperture blade adapters. (Actually 4 lenses if you also get the super wide). It does not have auto aperture. It is fiddly. It is different and I'm hoping gives results that I will be pleased with!

If Lomo made a regular 50mm lens, what's the point? Everyone else is already doing that...
