Gone mad and ordered a Monochrome.... End of July...
Congratulations on the future delivery, Jaap! This takes strong dedication to black and white photography... my memory is not so good, but I seem to recall you mentioned recently that you mostly do color work.
And I do mostly color myself, but I know that if I were to do much black and white again it might be best for there not to be a color option involved... that is, carry only black and white film, or have this marvelous new digital tool that helps keep one focused on B&W exclusively.
Feeling slightly envious, I wish you lots of enjoyment with the MM...

Congratulations!
I know of two others in the Seattle area who have ordered the camera. If money was available I would do the same, just not able to make that kind of commitment at the moment.
Look forward to seeing future posts from the M9M.

Well, money was not that readily available, but I could just stretch to it. I shot a beta-camera in Berlin and was so impressed that I decided it was worth the price. As for color and B&W, I am a bit bipolar. Not quite happy with M9 conversions ( I liked the M8 better) I think I will benefit by the MM.

Well, to start off with, I ordered a bunch of yellow filters

Me too. I've got from now to july to sell gear to pay for it.
I got shot down elsewhere for likening it to an electric piano. But I'm putting my money where my mouth is.
I'll be dusting off my orange filters.

Congrats. I just picked up a used Panny LX5 and LVF1 to serve as my M9 backup (will be selling my almost-unused D Lux 3, just never could get used to rear-screen viewing), and a non-AI 20/4 Nikkor to use with my 5D ( cut off and the protruding rear baffle and painted flat-black, + added an EOS adapter). But I've put big-ticket camera spending on hold pending me seeing what the M10 is all about. (Though I'm willing to bet you'll be one of the first to get one of those also, Jaap, regardless of what you say now
) My attitude is, spend it while you're in good health and can enjoy it. Time will come when we'll all be in no shape to enjoy the fruits of our labor.

Gotta love purchase announcements on RFF. (I'm serious.) They make us happy and make us want to experiment with new stuff. Man, please enjoy! (I look forward to your comments about the M9M.)

Thanks for the good wishes everybody
No Ben, no M10 for me in the near future. It was a question of either or. Shooting the MM as compared to the supposed M10 ( I was in Berlin, remember ,so I have some thoughts about the specs
) made up my mind. It was an amazing experience. And though the M10 will be a stunning camera the M9 is simply too good to discount. I haven’t finished reading that book yet. The whispers in the air about the beginnings of outlines of the M11 sound quite interesting as well. Ask me again in three to four years time. M9 + MM for the foreseeable future, if nothing else, it is extravagant enough already.

You'll be whistling a different tune one week after the M10 comes out.
What you're doing is extreme foolishness, but Leica has you hooked. Hook, line and sinker.

Congratulations on your new camera. I was very impressed by Sean Reid's write-up, particularly by the high ISO capability. For those for whom black and white is a key part of their work, it is a very desirable camera.

We're each entitled to our own set of priorities. Certainly for me an MM would be a waste of money for the <100 pictures/year I do in b&w (and most of those are shots I intended to be color but just accidentally work better in mono). No camera no matter how good, is likely to make me start "seeing in b&w" at this point in my life. I'm one of those people who cheered Ted Turner for colorizing all those classic movies [ducks and runs for cover
