I had suddenly a wish to use my Angenieux 70-210 zoom on a digital camera. This lens is in Canon FD mount, and today was the first time in which it is used on a digital camera. The Angenieux lens is (supposedly) a lens with high light transmission. I love its sharpness and it colors. I drove with Dana and Lina to Pensacola Beach, and hardly anyone was there, so we enjoyed the beach alone. There was very bright sunshine, and with the sugar white sand, I was challenged to get well exposed images at shutter speed 1/4000 and ISO 100 without overexposing the images. I will post the (many) images on my smugmug account, but here are a few samples.

It was quite difficult to focus well on the girls as they moved around so quickly, having a great time creating "zones" with their fete in the white sand. The sunlight was extremely bright, and I had a hard time finding the focus point for a perspective of 420mm with the lens wide open since I have not yet managed to close down the aperture.

Looks great Raid. The first landscape shows very nicely.
I have this lens in OM mount. It's a super optic on the 5Dii as well as film.
The 2 ring design makes it very nice to use matching excellent output.
It's a rare beast though. Not to many copies out there.

Love the out of focus circles. Beautiful lens and images of your girls as always Raid.

Thank you, Keith. This lens used to sell for $1000 via Shutterbug magazine and then on ebay. I managed to get the 70-210, and I wish I also had gotten the 35-70 (or similar?) zoom lens.

Thank you, Andy. I don't such lenses often for sale. The two ring design allows me to start at 210mm, use the other ring to focus, then zoom out to 70mm, with the focus still in tact. This lens is so sharp that I do not use the 10X magnification in the E-P2.

Thanks. I have another 50+ images from same day shoot. They turned out very nice looking. I should have used this lens more often.

Thank you Paul. I told Rasha a few minutes ago that it will part of my camera kit for our next Europe trip in the summer. I love using tele lenses. The 500/4.5L was my favorite SLR lens.
