Recently got an Angenieux 85mm 1.8 projection lens. Actually in worse condition than I thought but all those lenses all look awful. Mounted into cinema projectors countless times, even handled with care it is difficult to have something pristine nowadays.
Well, my question is regarding the mount. Am not sure if it is worth sending it to Japan for having it M Mounted. I was wondering if you had an idea on how to use it.
I am happy to focus with a Bellows or an helicoid, yet I can't figure out how to attach the lens to it. It is just made of a plain cylindrical barrel.
There is indeed a conical (!) thread at the back but not sure if it was used to fix it at the projector.
Was the lens just not loaded like a mortar ammo (I mean just slided into another cylinder) ?

Any pictures? I'm curious to see what this thing looks like. I've got a strange little Angenieux 7.5cm/3.5 on my hands, that is set into some type of custom-machined helicoid.

Sure I will take pictures of it tomorrow. Seems to be the longest focal length of the Y31 type Angenieux (I think you can find those Y31 in 65mm, 70mm, 75mm, 80mm and 85mm).
I would say the optical block are similar to a Nikkor 85 2 AIS yet without focusins ring or aperture.
